About Natalia Barzani
In a fragmented healthcare system, people with complex chronic illnesses are often subjected to redundant treatments and poorly coordinated care that can negatively affect both health outcomes and daily life. My multifactorial approach focuses on identifying patterns and environmental and lifestyle factors that could be contributing to chronic symptoms and exacerbating conditions such as EDS, MCAS, dysautonomia, ME/CFS and post-COVID illness. I believe that improved functionality, resilience and quality of life are as important as standalone laboratory findings. The goal is to support practical and sustainable lifestyle changes that over time can improve quality of life and well-being.
Over several years, my own health went from stable to severely compromised. Living with EDS and MCAS while navigating environmental exposure and nervous system dysregulation gave me a deeper understanding of how environmental load can influence long-term functionality and resilience. Leaving a water-damaged home and reconnecting with nature and my body led to substantial improvements in my health, cognitive function and overall well-being.
As part of my recovery and search for long-term housing, I have assessed accommodations including Airbnbs, hotels, and apartments across more than ten European countries. Through extensive travel, conversations with building professionals and real estate agents, relocation research, apartment viewings, hotel stays, and housing assessments, I have gained practical insight into how building conditions, ventilation, moisture issues, renovation practices, and indoor environmental quality can vary between locations and influence health, functionality, and quality of life.
Professionally, I have an MSc in Public Policy and experience as a healthcare developer, medical writer for the Swedish EDS Society, teacher and university mentor.
